Pokemon GO is not running when the screen is off which means that the screen must be turned on and unlocked to catch Pokemon or detect steps hatching eggs.
This allows you to tap a button to lock and black screen, but keep Pokemon jogging.
This means you can save battery life while walking around putting the screen in a low power state, and to safely put your phone in your pocket without worrying dial pocket or pressing another accidentally buttons when the phone is switched on and in your pocket.
Using
1. Launch battery saving Pokemon Go and set patern touch to start.
2. Switch back to Pokemon GO.
3. Move the icon out of the way.
4. touch the phone icon and dims his darkest value and the touch screen is locked.
5. When you want to Pokemon GO, tap the screen to show the pattern lock and unlock screen
Notes
-. do not press the button on the phone after Pokemon GO block as that would cause the screen to turn off completely and Pokemon Go to stop.
